Frequently Asked Questions

Who is Balouo Salo?
Balouo Salo is an independent humanitarian organization registered in the Single Registry of the Third Sector, implementing humanitarian projects to improve the living conditions of rural communities in Sub-Saharan Africa through interventions in health, water, education, and culture sectors.
How is Balouo Salo funded?
Balouo Salo is funded exclusively through private donations from individuals, companies, and foundations. We do not receive funds from governments, political parties, or institutional cooperation programs.
How can I support?
You can support us in several ways:
- One-time or recurring donation via -> See more.
- Organizing a fundraising event or solidarity dinner.
- Involving your company -> See more.
How can I become a partner or sponsor?
We are always looking for ethical collaborations based on social responsibility and transparency. Whether you are a company, an institution, or a foundation, we can develop a partnership to share Balouo Salo’s mission. Visit the dedicated page or contact us for more info. We are open to collaborations with companies, institutions, or foundations. To become a partner, write to info@balouosalo.com or visit the Collaborate with Us section.
Do you look for volunteers on the field?
No. The context where we operate is complex and currently considered a "risk zone" by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For this reason, we do not deploy volunteers from abroad on the field. Our field operations rely exclusively on highly trained operators and our local teams. This approach is necessary to ensure maximum quality and project self-sufficiency. However, as a volunteer, you can help in your city or remotely by organizing fundraisers or contributing your skills to our activities.
I am a professional; can I contribute with my skills?
Yes, we are always looking for professionals in humanitarian, health, engineering, or legal sectors who can contribute highly qualified support to our work to maintain the quality standards of aid we have always aimed for. Check the "Collaborate with Us" section and send your CV and a brief motivation letter to info@balouosalo.com.
How do you ensure transparency of funds?
98% of donations are allocated directly to field projects; the remainder covers operational and administrative costs. All projects are documented with reports, photos, and videos and supervised by the board and our local team. Activities are published on the website and available upon request.
