Solidarity Bequest

With a simple gesture, you can support our mission even after life. Your solidarity bequest ensures continuity and sustainability for our projects in Africa, helping women, children, and entire communities.

A bequest is an act of responsibility and generosity: you can allocate a sum of money, an asset, a property, or a share of your estate to Balouo Salo, guaranteeing a better future to those in need.

It is a free, revocable, and always modifiable gesture. It can be made through a holographic or public will, or via a life insurance policy or severance pay (TFR), without infringing on the rights of legal heirs (e.g., spouse or children).

With your bequest you can:
- Ensure long-term and effective interventions;
- Provide continuity to projects such as schools or healthcare centers;
- Allocate larger sums or entire properties;
- Lay the foundation for a dedicated or personalized project.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a solidarity testamentary bequest?
It is a will through which you decide to allocate part of your estate to an organization like Balouo Salo. It is a free act, always modifiable, which does not infringe the rights of legitimate heirs and allows you to transform your values into a concrete legacy for the benefit of those in greatest need.
Does my bequest take away anything from my family?
No, bequests can always respect the rightful quota reserved for heirs (e.g., children, spouse). The disposable portion of the estate can be freely allocated, including to a nonprofit organization, without compromising the rights of your loved ones.
What kind of assets can I leave?
You can choose to leave sums of money, real estate, movable assets, shares, investment funds, company shares, or a life insurance policy. Even a small part of your estate can create a huge impact for a community in need.
Do I need to see a notary to make a will?
Not necessarily. A holographic will (handwritten, dated, and signed) is perfectly valid and does not require a notary. However, for greater security, you can consult a notary to draft a public will or deposit the one you wrote.
Why make a bequest to Balouo Salo?
Because every bequest is transformed into projects that bring clean water, health, education, and dignity to extreme contexts. Because Balouo Salo operates transparently and independently, with a humane, sustainable approach respectful of communities. A gesture of love today can change the future of entire generations.
What is a donation in memory?
It is a special way to remember a loved one, transforming their memory into a gesture of concrete solidarity. You can make a donation in the name of someone who is no longer with us, helping to bring life, hope, and rights where they are most needed. You can simply make a donation or dedicate a wall or room in one of our projects. Write to donors@balouosalo.com for more information.
What does the person I name in the donation receive?
If you choose to make a donation in memory or in honor of someone, we can send a personalized digital card to the person you wish, whether a relative or family member, explaining the meaning of the gesture. You can add a personal message that will be included in the communication.
