In a place where no one chose to help, we are here!

Balouo Salo develops projects mainly in sub-Saharan Africa, focusing on a rural area in the Sédhiou region, in southern Senegal, one of the most marginalized and underdeveloped areas of the country. This is a rural territory made up of over 80 villages spread across various municipalities, inhabited by around 70,000 people, 65% of whom are minors. This forgotten area suffers from severe deficiencies in infrastructure, healthcare services, education, and access to drinking water. Here are the highest rates of poverty, malnutrition, mortality, and lack of access to basic services. We intervene here because no one else does, relying on a participatory approach, promoting sustainable, innovative solutions respectful of cultural identity.
